Big Tex Reconstruction

State Fair of Texas

After an electrical shortage took down the more than 60 year old Big Tex in fall of 2012, he was rebuilt and redesigned in 2013. The redevelopment of Texas’ iconic figure included a new foundation base with an integral electrical vault, new limestone seat wall around the circle and replacements of the decorative paving around the circle.
