Westside Water Treatment Plant

City of Fort Worth

This project completed the first phase of a new 35 MGD water treatment plant to serve a new development on the west side of Fort Worth. Design included two ozone contact channels, two rapid mixers, three flocculation/sedimentation trains, eight GAC (granular activated carbon) filters, 10 membrane filters, an electrical room, a blower room and two washwater recovery basins. The layout and orientation of the treatment plant was designed to hydraulically leverage the natural 70-foot elevation change across the project site.  An administration and control facility was included in the design to house a meeting room, office space and a control center that allows for remote operation of the entire plant.
