At a firm pumping capacity of 335 MGD, the IPS will be the largest and deepest vertical turbine solids handling (VTSH) installation in the United States, as well as the world’s largest HI trench-type self-cleaning wet well. JQ served as structural engineer of record for the project and was responsible for design of the influent control structures, the screenings handling facility, the VTSH pump station, the electrical building, the bio-filter complex for odor control, and numerous valve and meter vault structures.
