Research Center 15KV Distributuion Upgrade
Phillips 66 Company
After more than 50 years of service, the underground primary power feeders to the buildings at this research facility were failing at an increasing rate, requiring defects to be located and underground cables uncovered and repaired. Phillips 66 management decided to relocate the underground electrical service above ground for the entire campus. This first phase of the project included 720 LF of new underground duct bank, 3,400 LF of new above-ground cable tray supports for the 15 kV cabling being relocated from below ground, and structural steel supports for four new power equipment centers. JQ also provided civil design services for the grading, paving and drainage for the substation and duct bank profiles.
