JQ Project Manager Conner R. Maines Recognized as Rising Star by Civil + Structural Engineer Magazine

JQ celebrates the recognition of Conner R. Maines, PE, NSSA AP, as a 2022 Rising Star in Multidisciplinary Engineering by the Zweig Group’s Civil + Structural Engineer magazine. Conner is one of only ten engineers in this category selected in the magazine’s annual Rising Stars in the AEC Industry Award program. The honor recognizes young professionals who display exceptional technical capability, leadership ability, effective teaching or research, and/or public service benefiting the structural engineering profession, their employers, project owners, and/or society.

“Conner consistently demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and grasp of technical issues and takes an active role in the continual development of efficiency resources related to design, project management and firm technical operations. He epitomizes our company’s mission of ‘achieving excellence in the pursuit of a better community’ though his passion for engineering and the positive impact our profession can have on society,” said Stephen H. Lucy, PE, CEO of JQ.

Conner’s structural engineering experience has been focused on aviation and government projects. His experience includes serving as Construction Administration Manager for the $120M Terminal D Expansion at DFW International Airport, Project Manager/Structural Engineer of Record for the $95M design/build state-of-the-art Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Facility at DFW International Airport, Project Manager/Structural Engineer of Record for the $12M public safety facility for the City of Weatherford, and Project Manager/Structural Engineer of Record for the $15M fire station for the City of Prosper.

Conner is an active member of several industry organizations including the American Institute of Steel Construction, serving as a voting member of the Committee on Manuals and its subcommittee M2. He is also involved with the Structural Engineers Association of Texas and gives back to his hometown by supporting the Waxahachie High School STEM program. Within JQ, Conner leads the Technical Tool Team and Innovation group. He holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both from Texas A&M University.
