John T. White Elementary School

Fort Worth ISD

Designed in conjunction with the Collaborative for High Performance School (CHPS) requirements, the project aimed to provide the best possible learning environment with the smallest impact on the planet.  As the property was undeveloped, civil engineering services included the design of utility infrastructure, including 1,100 LF of public sanitary sewer main and 400 LF of 54-inch storm drain piping.  The project also included the design of 450 LF of minor arterial roadway, 20,000 SF of public roadway lane replacement and a 3-phase traffic control plan for the construction of the utilities and roadways. The campus includes 32 state of the art classrooms with an abundance of daylighting throughout, two playgrounds, a basketball court, and a number of grassy play areas.
