Animal Services Center
City of Wichita Falls
The 12,000 SF facility for the Wichita Falls (Texas) Public Health Department’s animal control unit utilizes a structural steel roof and load-bearing CMU walls to provide support for the architectural design and utilization of various spaces within the facility. Kennel spaces and animal work areas boast functional CMU walls for durability. Light structural steel framing provides sloped roofs with clerestory windows and an open-entry lobby. The facility’s floor slab is a concrete slab-on-grade, and straight shaft-drilled piers provide support for exterior walls, grade beams and building columns.
