Senior Technician | Associate, Infrastructure

As a Senior Technician in JQ’s Infrastructure/Industrial team, Jorge is a wealth of knowledge regarding JQ’s technical tools and work processes to improve the project experience. He brings expertise with the LiDAR scanning process, registration of pointclouds and creating 3D models to replicate reality and true world existing conditions. Jorge uses a variety of platforms and technical tools including Revit, Leica Cyclone, Lidar Scanning and Registration, ClearEdge 3D, Leica Cloudworx, MicroStation, Bentley Structural Modeler and AutoCAD.

Education: AAS in Computer Drafting and Design, ITT Technical Institute

Hometown: Born in Lagunillas Michoacan, Mexico - but I have lived in Garland TX since I was 4yrs old.

People would be surprised if they knew: My favorite band is Dream Theater (progressive metal band that started back in the 80’s), also my favorite kind of music is anything 70’s rock.

What’s one accomplishment (professional or personal) are you most proud of? My family – wife and three boys……. yes, lots of fun in my future!!

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on at JQ? MRMC Central Energy Plant Permanent Plant Upgrades – Very interesting project that required a lot of Lidar, 3D modeling and engineering to update a 1950’s era energy plant. I got to experience and learn a lot of new things from this project.
