JQ has been ranked #11 in the structural engineering category of the Zweig Group’s 2016 “Best Firms To Work For List.” JQ attributes this year’s jump in ranking to the firm’s commitment to employee development, engagement and retention, its overall culture and workplace practices, project diversity and multi-disciplinary service offerings.

“We owe this honor to all our employees whose contributions and hard work make it possible for us to provide excellent services for our clients and to offer meaningful career opportunities for our team members. Participating in this survey provides us with feedback and benchmarks that allow us to continuously improve our workplace practices and to continue attracting and retaining the best talent,” said JQ’s CEO Stephen H. Lucy, P.E.

The Zweig Group’s “Best Firms to Work For List” is based on a two-part submission that includes an overview of firm practices completed by firm representatives and an anonymous employee survey gauging internal satisfaction. The List recognizes the top architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering, environmental, and multi-disciplinary firms in the U.S. and Canada based on workplace practices, employee benefits and employee retention rates, among other key criteria.

Lucy also announced the firm’s rankings in Building Design + Construction’s (BD+C) 2016 Giants 300 Report that ranks the nation’s largest architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms by discipline across more than 20 building sectors and specialty services.

“The 2016 Giants 300 report reflects more of our firm’s multi-disciplinary services. We are very pleased to be recognized as an overall industry leader and as a leader across many key market sectors,” said Lucy. To date, the 2016 Giants 300 Report recognizes JQ as:

• No. 29 - Top 60 K-12 School Engineering Firms

• No. 37 - Top 60 Green Building Engineering Firms

• No. 37 - Top 50 Multifamily Engineering Firms

• No. 46 - Top 55 Engineering Firms

• No. 65 - Top 80 Healthcare Engineering Firms

Now in its 40th year, the annual Giants 300 Report ranks companies based on market-sector revenue, BIM revenue, green building work and other criteria and represents the largest and most innovative firms in the AEC industry.
