JQ has promoted Barry K. Krieger, PE, MLE to principal. JQ has also promoted four firm professionals to associates: Christopher Baker, PE, LEED AP; Ronald R. Ishmael, PE, LEED AP; Jessica Simon, PE, LEED AP; and Ovi Sipos, PE, LEED AP, according to CEO Stephen H. Lucy, PE.

JQ DALLAS PROMOTIONS:

Barry K. Krieger, PE, MLE Promoted to Principal

Barry Krieger, PE, has a successful track record in structural engineering projects ranging from industrial buildings to airports and healthcare. Barry is an experienced participant with design-build teams with “fast-track” schedules. He also has experience with blast resistant and anti-terrorism force protection design along with progressive collapse analysis. He is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Texas, Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), and sits on the board for the Mesorah High School for Girls. Barry earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and holds PE licenses in several states.

A Leadership Dallas alumnus, Barry helped lead his class to complete the largest project in Leadership Dallas’ 40-year history by raising $250,000 in funds and donated services for The Vogel Alcove, a child care center providing developmental, social and health services to children from homeless families.

Christopher Baker, PE, LEED AP Promoted to Associate

Chris Baker’s more than 10-year career in structural engineering includes a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from municipal to K-12 and higher education. He is involved from project conception to completion for JQ’s architectural clients. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and an Associates of Applied Science in Drafting and Design. He started his career for an architectural firm that concentrated on retail and hospitality projects prior to pursuing a degree in engineering. His training and background in both architecture and engineering provides him unique insights into the blending of aesthetic design with the technical requirements of the building structure.

Jessica Simon, PE, LEED AP Promoted to Associate

Jessica Simon’s structural engineering experience spans a variety of industries, including higher education, municipal, federal and commercial. Jessica’s experience includes her project management role on the Tyler Junior College School of Nursing and Health Sciences and as part of the team which assessed the Trinity River levee system for the City of Dallas, among others. An active member of the Structural Engineers Association of Texas, American Institute of Steel Construction and American Society of Civil Engineers, Jessica holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both from Texas A&M University. She has also served as a mentor and member of the Associate Board for the Dallas chapter of ACE Mentoring, and she is currently serving as a member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers’ Future Engineer Advisory Committee.

Ovi Sipos, PE, LEED AP Promoted to Associate

Ovi brings more than 15 years of experience in civil engineering design. He has extensive experience on a wide range of project types such as roadway reconstruction, drainage analysis and design, and water and wastewater distribution systems design. In addition to civil design, Ovi has implemented geographical information systems (GIS) for an array of civil and utility projects, developing GIS databases for utilities and infrastructure. A native of Romania who relocated to the United States in 2000, Ovi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Transilvania University and a Master of Science in GIS from University of Texas at Dallas. Ovi started his career in civil engineering in 2001 and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.

JQ FORT WORTH PROMOTION:

Ronald R. Ishmael, PE, LEED AP Promoted to Associate

Ronald Ishmael, P.E. has been with JQ since 2007 and has nearly a decade of experience in both new construction and repair/retrofit of existing buildings. He is responsible for managing multiple projects and clients with diverse needs, providing facility assessments and repair documentation for new and historic structures. Ronald is a licensed professional in the State of Texas and is affiliated with the American Institute of Steel Construction. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Ronald is a former Board member and President of the North Texas Chapter of International Concrete Repair Institute.
