Activated Sludge Influent Pump Station (ASIPS)

Dallas Water Utilities

To eliminate excessive air entrainment at the ASIPS discharge and its impact on the BNR process, JQ implemented significant structural, mechanical and electrical improvements. Extensive demolition was performed to provide space for piped 72-inch effluent headers discharged from the 10 new 350-horsepower, vertical turbine pumps providing a peak capacity of 400 MGD. Operational flexibility was considered throughout the design process with provisions for VFDs and the capability to split flow between the Complex A and B aeration basins.
