Memorial Student Center

Texas A&M University

Originally opened in 1951, the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University has played a vital role in Aggie tradition. As the building aged, the student body stepped in to push for an update, and the purpose of this renovation and expansion was to create a more welcoming space for students, promote the traditions and history of Texas A&M, restore the Student Center as the central campus gathering space and reflect the building as a campus gateway. The renovation included developing the street into a pedestrian zone and dedicating large open spaces within the reconfigured center to student programs and activities, study and computer lounges, dining spaces, retail areas, and a 24/7 student entertainment/support area. This project is built to LEED Silver standards.
