Whitley Hall Brick Investigation & Repairs

Texas A&M University at Commerce

JQ provided emergency assessment and repairs after a significant wind event caused a 10-by-12-foot section of brick masonry veneer to become detached from the Penthouse Level of the twelve-story Whitley Residence Hall on the Texas A&M University at Commerce campus. JQ was asked to assess the damage, evaluate the condition of the masonry veneer on the remainder of the building, provide assistance with the selection of a contractor to assist with investigation and repairs, prepare repair documents and oversee the repair work — all while the building remained occupied. Subsequent to this work, JQ was retained to assess and repair additional structures on the campus.
