Booker T. Washington School for the Performing Arts

Dallas ISD

Built in 1922, this five-story architectural gem adjacent to the Downtown Dallas Arts District was painstakingly restored and expanded to serve approximately 1,000 students and faculty at the renowned magnet school via more communal and private work spaces. This restoration project also preserved the site’s original structures while providing additional infrastructure to support expansion for new generations of arts students. It was voted Texas Construction Magazine’s Best K-12 Education Project.
