The library is a single-story steel framed structure clad with a combination of limestone and curtain wall. The building, designed by Perkins and Will, features a glass “tree house” in the children’s section which cantilevers out from the building structure. The library area features a raised floor system which permits the greatest degree of flexibility for the space. The raised floor system also provides under-floor air distribution which saves on energy usage and allows air receptacles to be easily reconfigured. The project also contains an array of photo-voltaic (PV) panels on the roof for energy collection.
