Education: BS in Civil Engineering, Texas A&M University
Year started at JQ: 2000
Hometown: It’s a cross between Galesburg, Illinois (where I grew up) and Fort Worth, Texas (where I went to high school)
Talk to me about: Hiking and trips to the mountains, ideally with my family; watching my daughter’s volleyball games; and plopping myself on the couch for football Saturdays and Sundays.
The best part of waking up is: Getting stuff accomplished before everyone else wakes up
What one accomplishment (professional or personal) are you most proud of: I love teaching others. Mentoring our young engineers and seeing them succeed is by far my favorite accomplishment.
What made you want to become an engineer: I lucked into this career by attending Texas A&M University, as I have no history or mentors connecting me to engineering. I went in as a Chemistry major and quickly realized that was not the major for me. I was always interested in math, so I leaned toward engineering or accounting. I ended up taking a placement test that flagged engineering, so it was decided.
