Douglas Rothermel, PE, LEEP AP
Douglas Rothermel, PE, LEED AP serves the JQ Fort Worth office as Senior Project Manager. Douglas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University and has 23 years of experience in project management, structural engineering design and construction administration. Prior to joining JQ in 2006, he practiced for 16 years in the State of California where he managed a variety of commercial, residential, retail, and industrial projects. Having to account for the large forces imposed on a structure during a seismic event, his education along with his work experience in California gave him a deep appreciation for an engineer’s responsibility with respect to life safety.
Recent projects have included the Cotton Bowl 2013 Improvements, Thelma Richardson Elementary School for Dallas Independent School District, the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University in College Station, and the Student Union at University of North Texas in Denton. Douglas is a registered professional engineer in both Texas and California and belongs to the American Institute of Steel Construction, the American Concrete Institute, and the American Wood Council. He is also a certified post-disaster assessment volunteer under the California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA) Safety Assessment Program.
