Associate, Principal and Partner Program

JQ recognizes that identifying and training the future leaders of the firm is essential to the long term success of the firm. With this in mind, the firm created our Associate, Principal and Partner (APP) program in 2003 to establish the criteria for selection, associated responsibilities and increased recognition and benefits for program participants. Through this process, our staff can better understand their potential career path and the firm can provide for sustainable leadership transition.


Staff members who successfully collaborate with firm leadership in furthering the firm’s success and growth –– both qualitatively and financially — may be considered for selection as an Associate. Selection as an Associate is the initial step for an employee on the path to Principal or Partner. They contribute to both project and practice management in support of the firm’s leadership. Promotion to Associate provides individuals with increased opportunities for professional growth, job satisfaction, and compensation. Associates are provided the chance to more directly affect the success of the firm, our staff and our clients.


Associates who continue to excel may be invited to become a Principal in the firm. Candidates for Principal have demonstrated the desire, skills, and leadership to take on firm-wide responsibilities for project management, practice management, and business development. Principals take on additional management and business development/marketing duties.


A Principal may be invited to become a Partner by acquiring an ownership interest in the firm. The firm seeks to identify, develop, and promote additional Partners from within the firm to assure orderly leadership transition. Ownership is dependent on meeting specific criteria related to management skills and financial performance.
